Do we have any Ladurée fans around here? I’m guessing the answer is yes. In that case I’m pretty sure you’re going to like what’s coming. Apparently Les Marquis de Ladurée, Ladurée’s new boutique for all things chocolate, has just opened up its doors in Paris! The boutique is located on Rue Castiglione, right around the corner from Place Vendôme, and could possibly be the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen. The chocolate shop opened a few weeks before Christmas but is still relatively unknown since I walked around in the store for almost five minutes without being disturbed by any other customers. Both the shop, selection and service was impeccable. I say: visit before the masses discover this one!

Regarding the macarons from yesterday, yes they were from this place. Apart from a huge selection of chocolates they also sell a few different macarons — all with chocolate incorporated in some way of course. I would absolutely recommend the one white chocolate with passion fruit!

  1. OMG that looks scrumptious!! I will absolutely need to pay a visit. Thanks for the recommendation! And ridiculously beautiful photos, as always. I’m telling you… Etsy 🙂

  2. Love the chocolate, but sadly not the macarons. I keep buying them – they are so delicate and pretty in the hopes that I will some day, but alas I have yet to find one I truly like. But I do love the shops – they are gorgeous!

    • I’m not a super big macaron fan either but I’m so in love with the shape and colour. They photograph so unbelievable well that I can’t seem to stay away from them haha!

I love love love macarons. Unfortunately I didn’t tried any that are not from Ladurée, but those are a bit expensive… Can you recommend other and a bit more cheaper, but also good locations where to get tasty macarons?

Your pictures are truly amazing Carin, you should work for a magazine or something.
I stayed at the Hotel Lotti on Rue Castiglione when I went to Paris…and visited Ladurée on Rue Royale but of course this wasn’t there yet.

This chocolaterie looks amazing yummy, will have to visit next time!

  6. So glad Milsters mentioned you on her blog because yours is gorgeous! I didn’t previously know Ladurée, but I am now a total fan thanks to your photos! I’m an even bigger fan of yours, though – love this!

  7. Lovely pictures as always. Well….I am waiting for Laduree to open up more than one store in America haha, ahh New York is so lucky! Meanwhile, I’ll just keep on daydreaming about their pastires. White chocolate with passion fruit sounds delicious, although dark chocolate is my favorite. Will remember to visit this place if I ever end up in Paris 🙂

    • Ah, that’s right! Ladurée really needs to open in more places over there. Yes, they also had one called “Chocolat Venezuela” and that one was dark chocolate. Absolutely delicious!

  14. I”m featuring a shot of the macrons in the window from here on my blog tomorrow, so I’m linking here. It was a shoot on the run and sadly I didn’t go inside. What was I thinking? Usually they are funny about photos, but I see your got some nice ones. Thanks for the info!

    • No problem, as long as you credit and link properly 🙂 Yes, I actually asked them and they said that it was ok. But the shop had only been open for a couple of weeks when I visited for the first time.
