Baby, I’m Back!

It wasn’t just my blog birthday today, it was also moving day for me! So far everything has gone smoothly and it feels so great to finally be able to unpack all of my bags.

This time around I don’t really have to “get to know” my new neighbourhood since it was my neighbourhood during my four months in Paris last spring. Instead I took a walk, popped into my favourite boulangerie and said hello to the men in the grocery store that welcomed me back. It feels so good to be able to settle in and make a little home for myself (well, at least for a few months anyway) and I couldn’t ask for a better place to do it in.

The photo above is actually the exact place where my journey both begun and ended in Paris last year. Exactly one year later I’m back, starting my new journey in the exact same place. Isn’t life funny sometimes? I’m so happy to be back!

A zillion years ago, I spent the month of January in Paris during my college’s interim. The memories that I have of that time – they are plentiful and precious – are brought alive again, so many years later, by your photos and words. Wish we could say the same. 4 months in the summer of 2011 was supposed to be forever…we return this March but only for a few weeks. Congrats to you! Great photos too!
