My Valentine

The Eiffel Tower by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

I must say that even though Valentine’s Day may be considered as a commercial trick I really enjoy this day. It’s nice to see a little bit of extra love around the city! Beautiful flowers, cheesy boutique décors, pretty heart-shaped pastries and little bit of red and pink everywhere. I use this day to think about my loved ones, but I also see it as an excuse to indulge in my favourite pleasures and spoil myself a little bit more than usual. Why not? And who doesn’t need that every now and then?

I meet up with adorable Grace for a Valentine’s date at my favourite restaurant Les Cocottes. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. If I could I would literally live in this place. Oh yes, that would be my dream! The shredded lettuce hearts with crab and the langoustine ravioli were my choices for the day, together with my favourite white wine. Now I’m getting too hungry just thinking about it. Dammit, I have to go back now…

But of course we couldn’t stop there. Hello?! Dessert was missing of course! Hot chocolate and tons of ice cream at Berthillon was the perfect ending to our day together.

We had such an amazing day; great food, yummy desserts and so much laughter. I couldn’t have asked for a better Valentine’s date! Even though this was my first Valentine’s alone in a long long time I really enjoyed myself, with a bunch of my favourite things. And really, could you ask for a better Valentine’s date than Paris?

Looks like you had a great time, very jealous of your hot chocolate and ice cream and, of course, of Paris being your date! xx

  2. What an amazing interior of this lovely restaurant! Next time when I will be in Paris I will have dinner too.

  3. Remember when I told you to write more about yourself and your life in made it! I love your writting style, it’s interesting and you always put some food expiriance in it, which I adore, cause when you’re in Paris, you have to eat all of these pretty things. I think if I was in your place, I got 20 pounds in just one month :)) Also, I think ice cream taste better during winter days than summer! 🙂

For me the Valentine day is not something I appreciate much because it has really become an absolutely commercial day. Nevertheless, I just can’t ignore the love which is in the air! And when in Paris one should not simply not see it. I’m happy for you having the chance to feel that… I hope one day…soon…I will spend some days in Paris with my husband…on a valentine day or not… For me, Paris is always magical…
    Enjoy it!

  5. Ohhhh another Australian 🙂 looks lovely and delicious! Happy Valentine’s darlin! x

Perfect Valentine’s day if you ask me! The food looks sooooo yummy, I can’t wait to visit this place when I’m there. You are a lucky girl, enjoy!

I’m headed to Paris soon and am going to Les Cocottes all thanks to this blog! I already know that I’ll be ordering that langoustine ravioli. 🙂

  9. I’m stunned to see the Seine so full! I have been to Paris many, many times, at every time of year, and have NEVER seen it like that. Makes me want to jump on a plane to see it in person.

Such beautiful pictures, makes so excited about my next visit to Paris in April. I used the Marathon last year as the perfect excuse to finally visit Paris and now I am well and truly under her spell. I am bringing my little 6 year old daughter who is totally obsessed with all things Parisian for her first trip to this beautiful city. We love reading your blog and your pictures have her even more excited about her upcoming adventure.

  12. I am convinced that you have the most beautiful photos of Paris.

  13. Thank you 🙂 Happy Valentine’s to you as well.
