Miss Dior Exhibition at Grand Palais

When Dior puts on a show at the Grand Palais and the entrance is free, you go. And so I did. Last Saturday (before indulging in a lovely afternoon treat at Café Pouchkine) I spent my morning wandering around in this little Dior wonderland. In honour of the fashion house’s iconic perfume “Miss Dior” breathtaking gowns, legendary paintings and magical sketches were all on display. Although I missed Natalie Portman’s personal appearance and didn’t get to see her rolling around in these couture-like dresses in real life, I fell in love with this beautiful exposition. But I didn’t expect much else since Monsieur Dior had a soft spot for both flowers and pretty bows, just like myself. I’m quite sure this must be any girly girl’s favourite museum visit in Paris this fall, no?

Unfortunately the exhibition will end tomorrow, so hurry up and go if you haven’t already been. But be prepared to stand in line outside in the Parisian cold — but I mean, what don’t you do for a little Dior? Find more info here.

Starting my Sunday morning with these dreamy photos is a real pleasure. Unfortunately I won’t see the exhibition myself, but these photos make me feel as if I am in the dream world of embellished blossoms, pastel coloured feathers and of course the famous bows. Luckily I did see a few pieces at the Dior museum in Granville where I was last summer, so I had the opportunity to see some of the gowns up close. Merci for sharing this abundance of prettiness!

Oh Dior, you do femininity so well.
Great photos – the flower dress [picture 13] looks amazing, although i imagine it would be incredibly heavy!

These are such beautiful photographs of this exhibition. Thanks to you I dashed into Paris from the suburbs today. Stood in line for two hours and made it into the show with half an hour to spare before I had to leave to pick up my kids! It was worth it though to see those divine dresses up close, and if you’re going to stand in line for two hours outside in the freezing cold there can’t be a prettier place in the world to do it!
