Food Favourites in NYC

Snapshots From New York

Snapshots From New York

When I’m in New York I try to seek out food and sweets that I have a harder time finding here in Paris. We have many amazing restaurants and pastries here but we don’t have everything. Really good doughnuts and simple fried chicken are just two examples from my list of food that I can’t seem to track down when in the French capital. But thanks to all my amazing friends who are lucky enough to call New York home (and who knows me a little bit too well by know…) I managed to satisfy my cravings for all the delicious things I had been missing since my last visit. Japanese sushi, Italian risotto, Australian coffee, Thai soup, French croquembouche, Korean barbecue, Indian pancakes, American burgers and Swedish candy – you can literally find anything in that city. And yes, we ate it all.

A few food favourites from my New York-visit this time around? Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken, doughnuts from Doughnut Plant (favourite flavours were: coffee, tres leches and carrot cake), fried rice and Pad thai at Laut, burgers from Shake Shack, coffee at these places, Italian at Maialino, Blue Ribbon Sushi, Korean barbecue somewhere (yes, stupid me I totally forgot) in Koreatown, lunch at Westville, Swedish candy from Sockerbit, another lunch at The Cleveland, delicious risotto and fries at Lafayette, afternoon tea at Bergdorf & Goodman, more coffee at Bowery CoffeeStumptown Coffee and Intelligentsia, yummy brunch from Saxon + Parole and absolute cake-heaven at The Little Cupcake Bakeshop.

Korean Barbecue has to not only be one of my favourite things to eat, but one of my favourite food experiences, too. When I lived in Los Angeles there was this tiny, unassuming place called Soot Bull Jeep in their Koreatown I absolutely adored. If you’re ever in town, check it out!

Oh, and I love that fried chicken picture by the way, and thanks for educating me that Intelligentsia not just a LA thing!

Ahh gotta love New York for it’s food scene! Saving this for future trips – the carrot cake donut is calling my name!

I’ve only had Korean Barbecue once, but I’d love to have it again. Need to find a good place in London without having to jet off to New York for it.

Definitely taking note of all of these. I used to live there so I’ve done most like Shake Shack, tea at B&G, Intelligentsia. Also, if you ever get a craving for Shake Shack there’s one in London in Covent Garden! I may have commented on some social media platform about this under a photo of yours :)

Foodies think alike. When I travel, the one time I have the fondest memories of, other than the people, is FOOD. I’m happy when my tummy is happy too :P

I could eat that chicken off the screen. Funnily enough Noo Yawk has some of the best Korean food. Kunjip is consistently good in K-town! Service is swift Bbali Bbali! of course!
