What’s Inside?

Salvatore Ferragamo bag by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

Salvatore Ferragamo bag by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

Since I haven’t gotten my hands on that perfect camera bag just yet I usually tend to leave the camera at home and opt for a much lighter, and smaller option nowadays. I’m so used to carrying around bigger bags (with a ton of crap and unnecessary things in them) so this has truly forced me to scale down what’s inside my bag. So what you’ll most likely find in my Salvatore Ferragamo bag, which I found here in Paris last year, is what you see above. Métro card, my favourite lip balm from Clarins, a very beaten up hot pink coin purse (you always end up with too many coins here), a pack of tissues and my alternative, and smaller, wallet from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Plus iPhone. I’m feeling crazy minimalistic over here!

I recognize that…carrying around with big bags…I really love the bag you’ve bought! Maybe you have convinced me to buy a smaller bag too :)

  3. Nothing beats a good cross-body, well, almost nothing. Great bag!

  4. I always carry too much stuff in my handbag & my huge wallet ways a ton and is also filled with stuff I don’t need! I have to get a really small one like yours and downsize!

  5. big bags are only meant
to fill with too many things that you most likely won’t need! Love this minimal
and elegant bag from Ferragamo, looks pretty versatile and comfy plus
    ultra chic!

A good and stylish bag which can fit a camera is pretty hard to find. :( I have a mirrorless camera myself and it’s hard to find a bag which fits it and the essentials but doesn’t have too much extra space where the items go all around in the bag itself.

Very pretty! I love how a small bag can force you to bring along only what you really need.

  8. You are making me want to store away my huge Jason Wu tote for something much lighter!

I’ve been looking for a nice looking camera bag for so long that I finally gave up and bought the LV Speedy 35cm Bandouliere. It’s also my overnight bag/work bag/camera bag…. LOL! Totally get you about carrying too much crap. I spent an entire weekend just with a Chanel WOC and was shocked that I didn’t need to lug my usual junk.

I’ve got the exact same problem ; a nice camera bag is hard to find. I wear smaller bags, the ones you can hang around or on your shoulder. I like to have both hands free, specially when I take my tripod too. LV has a nice camera bag (so my husband said) but I rather invest in good lenses than a 3000€ LV bag I probably don’t even like that much .. so the search is still on !

  11. Great post! I wish I could scale the crap in my bag down like you did..
