A few snapshots from the Sunday market. I could wander around these Parisian markets forever. It never gets old. Although the vendors’ remarks about me shooting their vegetables (they can’t possible understand why someone would like photographs of the stuff they’re selling) can. I can’t wait until the day my French is good enough to answer back with a witty and clever comment. Then there’s no stopping me!

Just an “aah!” for this! :D

Yeah sometimes no one gets why we pulling out our camera for any slight detail, these images are gorgeous.

I know, and I guess they never will ;) I just have to get used to that. Thanks!

I LOVE going to the market! There is one in my hood that is open 7 days a week. I will never move to a new hood for his reason.

I love farmer’s markets! I can imagine they don’t understand that their products look stunning in photos, they should see the outcome, it would surely change their minds.

    • Paris in Four Months

      Haha maybe :)

  • Naomi Kam

    beautiful photos :] x

Haha! Just tell him/her “J’aime tout prendre en photo”, I guess that’ll do. ;)
    Happy Monday!

Haha yes maybe ;) I’ll think about a few witty comebacks.

What do they say to you? I always want to take photos at farmer’s markets but I’m too nervous! Good for you, these pictures are gorgeous!

    • Paris in Four Months

They just make jokes or ask why you would want to photograph tomatoes etc. etc. But I usually just brush it off. Thank you :)

I love my weekly wanderings around both the food markets on saturdays and the flea markets on sundays in Berlin. There are always little treasures awaiting. Stunning photos as always, Carin!

    • Paris in Four Months

      That sounds lovely. Thanks :)

  • Zachary

That is such a common feeling! I am always afraid of taking a photograph for fear of a shop owner freaking out and embarrassing me in public for being that weirdo who takes photographs of common goods.

    • Paris in Four Months

Haha yes, exactly. I’ve tried asking a couple of times as well but it seems like the French then say no without even considering it.

Absolutely beautiful photographs. Going to the market was one of my favorite things to do when I lived in Paris. They truly never get old. I definitely feel your pain of trying to take pictures when the vendors grumble… but hey, it clearly was worth it!!

    • Paris in Four Months

      Thanks :)

Hah, I love your comment about the vendors not understanding you photographing their vegetables – I love snapping pictures of food at markets, even if it’s crazy to others! :)

  • Joyce Pak

I would be happy to be a vendor and see people photographing my things! It means that what I’m selling brings joy to others and people see beauty in them. Not to mention that it is good PR for them, haha.

  • Dominica C

Even in my hometown, I’m pretending to be a tourist if vendors start to shout at me ! Haha. I always act like I don’t understand a word of what they are saying and then I throw them a blow-kiss !

  • Joanna

Hello, love your photos – I am visiting Paris in 1 month and wondered if you could recommend the best market to go to on a Sunday morning?
