It’s been raining almost non stop for the past couple of days here in Paris. I can’t help but to long for warmer and brighter days! It’s almost June.

… Although, to be fair, I have to say that I had a pretty great day today while the sun was out for a few hours. Nothing beats a sunny Paris.

I have two favourite times during the day; early weekend mornings and early evenings during spring and summer. The early evenings here in Paris have a certain scent that I just can’t get enough of… And those beautiful sunsets. Never have I seen such a spectacular sky as I have in Paris. When the sun starts to set I love taking a walk around the city. The colours are so beautiful and within minutes the city goes dark.

The 7th arrondissement must be one of the most famous arrondissements in all of Paris. It’s the home to the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides and the beautiful Musée Rodin for example (and let’s not forget about a few of my favourite restaurants). I love this neighbourhood because of all the gorgeous buildings (some will seriously make your jaw drop), the small Parisian streets and the cosy feeling I get from strolling around here. A big part of this arrondissement can feel very residential but if you end up on streets like Rue Saint Dominique, Rue Grenelle or Rue Cler it’s just perfect. I love walking from Champ de Mars all the way to Le Bon Marché and continue into the 6th arrondissement. It’s a lovely walk and I can never put down my camera for more than three seconds because of all the lovely things I pass along the way!

Nothing makes you feel a little bit better than pretty pink flowers. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Where did the time go? The month of May is already here and bunch of new and exciting things are just around the corner!

(Please excuse the lack of updates, replies to e-mails and comments over the last couple of days. I’ve been under the weather during the last week but hopefully I’ll be back on my feet, and behind the camera, very soon again)

Sometime during last week, or the week before that, I made my way to Jardin des Plantes on a very sunny day. I figured that you never know when the sun will come back to Paris again so I wore a dress, and judging by the weather that’s been going on the last couple of days I made the right choice. If only the weather could be a little bit better in this city… Or more stable at least. Anyways, the gardens of Jardin des Plantes were in full bloom and absolutely stunning! I think spring has to be my favourite season. How can it not be when the city looks like this? Well, perhaps you can say that a spring with good weather is my favourite season.

If you’re in Paris, hurry up so you don’t miss out on these gorgeous and blossoming trees! I’m in love.

Musée Rodin is one of my absolute favourite places in all of Paris. Especially during spring and summer. There’s something special about this place that just makes me happy. I can’t help but to smile and I always get a good, delightful feeling in my stomach (perhaps that’s sounds a bit weird but it’s a feeling that is quite hard to describe) when I stroll around Musée Rodin and its gardens. I think joy is what it is! I decided to go last week during a sunny morning, although unfortunately the garden’s roses haven’t started to bloom yet but the place is still magnificent. If you’re in Paris you cannot miss out on this place!

Since the first time I visited this museum I’ve said to myself that this is the place I’m going to get married at (which I, by the way, have no idea if it’s even allowed or not) but since I’m no way near getting married (and happy for that) I guess that a big party would do as well. Or it could also work as my new apartment slash house slash castle, I’m not too picky when it comes to these things.

As many of you probably know the lawns in the parks of Paris are not always okay to sit on (or to even walk on) and seeing a sign saying “pelouse interdite” is extremely common. But every spring the city opens up (most of) the lawns to the public again and to celebrate this I was invited to a wonderful picnic in Parc Monceau. But it wasn’t your regular “any-day-of-the-week-picnic”, oh no, this was a picnic where our amazing host made us homemade pavlova with fresh fruit and berries for dessert, another great cook brought us homemade whipped cream and strawberries, a guitar player entertained us with beautiful tunes and where we got to enjoy (and try on) some gorgeous jewellery.

I guess this is one of the perks having a friend who’s a jewellery designer… Olivia makes the most gorgeous rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces with beautiful stones that will make your jaw drop. Just look at that pink gorgeousness in the photo above! Of course a little bit of jewellery shopping makes any kind of picnic more fun. Thank you so much for organising everything Lauren! I had such a great time and it was so nice getting together with so many friends at once. And fortunately, we were incredible lucky with the weather as well. Now I just think I have to ask for that yummy Pavlova recipe…
