Favourite Lilacs by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

I managed to find some beautiful lilacs at the market today! Unfortunately they come and go so quickly. The smell of lilacs has to be one of the loveliest scents ever. Mmm!

Maje by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

It’s hard to ignore all the sales that are currently going on in Paris at the moment, but fortunately I’m shopping for a cause! Tomorrow I’m actually starting a two week long internship at Diane von Furstenberg’s showroom and the dress code is all black, so I do have a reason for my purchases. One of my favourite stores in Paris is Maje which you should be sure to check out if you’re ever in the city.

Regarding the internship I’m not really sure how much I’m allowed to share with you all but hopefully I can tell you more about it! Wish me good luck, I’m feeling a little bit nervous.

Nail Polishes by Carin Olsson (Paris in Four Months)

During the weekend my mom and I went for manicures at a little nail bar in the 7th arrondissement. While waiting for our appointments and watching other customers getting their nails done I noticed a little trend; all of the women left the nail bar with dark and very very short nails. When I asked the woman who did my nails about current “trends” and what’s popular at the moment she of course told me that this was the case — short and dark. She took a look at my (medium long) nails, which at the moment were painted in a light peach/pink colour, and giggled: “That colour is very popular among the old ladies here in Paris!”.

To sum things up, I’m now writing this with shorter (much shorter) nails painted in a very dark burgundy colour from Mavala which I bought immediately after my appointment.

I want to catch up on some reading before my move to Paris. I don’t want to miss a single thing and I’m pretty sure these books will help me! “Paris My Sweet” by Amy Thomas and “Markets of Paris” by Dixon Long and Marjorie R. Williams.
