The other day, while walking by Place des Vosges I couldn’t help but to stop for a little sugary treat at Carette. The raspberry tart is one of my absolute favourite pastries in Paris and I always seem to come back to it! But it’s actually quite fun to try the same kind of pastry from different places because everyone makes it in their own way. This one from Carette was really lovely with a hint of lavender.

Back in Sweden it’s Fettisdagen (or “Fat Tuesday” in English) today. This is a day when you indulge in these yummy treats as seen above, called Semlor. I don’t really know how to describe them except for ”a bun with whipped cream” but that doesn’t do them justice at all. Unfortunately I won’t have the pleasure to nibble on one of these today but if you want to try them I think (!) you could head to the Institut Suédois in Le Marais or make them yourself with this recipe from one of my absolute favourite baking blogs out there, Call Me Cupcake.

(I still haven’t figured out everything regarding an apartment etc. just yet… Ok, I have a million things left to take care of but I promise to share more from my Parisian adventure as soon as I’ve gotten myself together.)

Everybody needs a pretty looking pastry from Pierre Hermé every now and then. Although this little one managed to fool me with hidden pieces of fig (or something similar) which I’m not a huge fan of… Perhaps I should have read the description a little bit more careful. Oh well, for those of you who like figs (or something similar, because I still don’t know exactly what it was) I absolutely recommend it. I can’t wait to come back and try out a couple of new ones!
