This is the last part of photos in my little Corsica series. I’m so sorry for bombarding you with vacation photos but this place was just too pretty. I hope you’ve enjoyed them and that I haven’t bored you too much.

It’s hard for me to scroll through these photos without getting the urge to return. Like tomorrow. For some reason (perhaps it’s the rain, the grey weather or the cold 12 degrees?) I’m not all that happy about returning to Paris… I could easily have spend another week or two on that beautiful island. But I’m so glad I got to spend these days in such a wonderful place with such lovely friends.

When I moved to Paris I never thought that I would want — or even less, need a break from the city. I still believed that that was true until the moment I got off the plane that landed in Corsica. As soon as I smelled the salty air, could take off my jacket and look up towards the sun and actually feel warm I could feel my whole body jumping around with happiness. Even though Paris is (to me) one of the most amazing places in this world I now realise that you even need a break from that every now and then.

Corsica gave me everything I had (unconsciously) been longing for. Warm weather, days spent at the beach and in the water, sitting at the beach club sipping lemonade, walking around the town with an ice cream in my hand, reading by the ocean with sailboats passing by, having breakfast at cafés, eating strawberries in the shade and wearing summer dresses out to dinner.

So finally I get to share the first part of my vacation photos with you all! Last week I went to Corsica with an amazing group of girls to relax, read a book and just get the chance to feel sand underneath my feet again. Ah, I already want to get on a plane and fly back!

We went to Bastia, a city located on the north-east side of the island (which is absolutely huge). Bastia was a mix of everything I love. It was almost like Nice, Terracina and Desenzano (or any other adorable Italian city) had got together and created their own little love child. You had the narrow streets, the colourful buildings, beautiful beaches, that calmness, the delicious Italian food and the kindness of all the locals. If anybody out there is looking for a great vacation destination without any “musts” or “shoulds” this is a place to put on top of your list. I would love to go back, not only to Bastia but to other parts of the island as well. Renting a car and being able to see more of the island is what I’m going to do next time I come here (and yes, there’s most definitely going to be a next time).

I was so happy to lay on a beach, play around in the ocean, eat fresh strawberries, wander the beautiful streets of Bastia, eat enormous amounts of ice cream and get the chance to hang out with some awesome people. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Here’s a couple of snapshots from my trip to Corsica. We found an amazing beach, delicious ice cream, a restaurant that served us the best langoustines ever, ate strawberries on the beach overlooking the ocean, wandered the narrow and colourful streets in Bastia and had the most amazing dinner view. Today I’m leaving for Corsica! I’m longing for sun, walks along the water and just reading a book without any “musts” for a few days. Hopefully there will be some wifi connection over there so that I can share photos with you all!

As I mentioned briefly a couple of weeks ago I’ve booked a trip that I’m very excited about and it’s to Corsica! I’ve been wanting to go for such a long time now and I’m so happy it’s finally happening. I’m going together with some of the most amazing girls I’ve had the pleasure to meet so far here in Paris so it couldn’t be more perfect. We’re packing our bags for Bastia during a couple of days in May and hopefully we can get some lovely days together. So lay it on me, do you have any Corsica tips?

The trips I’ve made to New York have been some of my favourite ones ever. I really had the time of my life over there. Hopefully I can come back during next year sometime.

One of my favourite cities on earth.

Terracina, a smaller city located an hour or so below Rome, is one of my favourite places in the whole world. I’ve spent more summers here than I can remember, with some of the best friends you could imagine and eaten some of the yummiest food I’ve ever tasted. The city is small but has everything you need — a couple of stores, a fish market, a beautiful (and busy) beach and that inevitable Italian charm. Check in here, plan a day trip to one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean; the Ponza islands and enjoy the calm pace and delicious food.
